Overview Of The Claim
The claimant was a vulnerable resident in a care home who sustained burn injuries after being provided with a hot drink in unsuitable conditions.

Background To The Case
The claimant was a resident living in a care home and was blind, requiring a high level of care and supervision.
On the day of the incident, the claimant was provided with a hot drink that was not served in a non-spill cup. As a result, the drink was accidentally spilled onto the claimant, causing burn injuries.
Despite receiving care following the incident, the claimant sadly passed away within months. The injuries sustained were found to be a contributing factor to the claimant’s death.
